LETTER FROM ROBIN:

HELLO!

Thank you for taking the time to get to learn about your candidate, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Robin Dalton, I live in downtown Saratoga Springs with my husband Matt and our 4 children, John, Charlie, Alice & Tommy. While my husband is a born & bred Saratogian, I grew up downstate in New York City. We moved to Saratoga back in 2007, got married and settled in to our city in the country life.

In my run for office in 2019, I joined other like-minded candidates who prioritized city over party and was the first female Public Safety Commissioner elected in our city's history, and was inaugurated on January 1, 2020. Just over two months into my term, the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak began, and the ensuing year and a half marked the most challenging period public safety in Saratoga Springs has ever faced. Together with our incredible Police and Fire Departments, I have lead the city's response to the COVID-19 pandemic from going on PAUSE in March of 2020, to reopening in June, through the surge of infections this fall and winter to finally, facilitating the ongoing vaccination efforts.

Whether at the City Council table or in conversations with constituents, my decisions have always been based on my commitment to good governance, honesty and a persistent search for common ground. There is an incredibly wide diversity of thought in our community and every voice should be heard by our elected officials, regardless of political affiliation or party. I am the only independent mayoral candidate on the ballot this November and reject the extremist rhetoric and outrage politics that has taken over the national political climate.

We must elect a Mayor this November who understands the complexities of the challenges our city is facing to lead us forward together, out of the pandemic and battered local economy. We are one city, with one future - it would be my privilege to work on behalf of all Saratogians as your Mayor.

I can't imagine a better place to raise a family and am profoundly grateful for the opportunities & experiences I've had here over the last several years. For my community involvement in Saratoga, professional background and recent awards, see below.  I am thrilled to be kicking off my campaign and look forward to meeting you!
